Niche Marketing on the Internet – Target Your Audience

When it comes to marketing yourself and your business online, you must learn how to conduct target marketing in the realm of internet marketing. It is extremely important to not simply generalize your website, but to create target specific web pages to help drive more traffic to your site. There is one basic way to conduct niche marketing, and that is to break down your products and services into individual pages with a theme geared toward one subject matter, product or the services you offer. If you are located in a specific city, say so to expand your reach in that city. Even with your specific niche marketing efforts, there is a great possibility that there are already thousands of other businesses targeting the same group of people. How do you plan to draw clients from your competitors? You must set yourself apart with your target specific web pages. This is where you can specifically point out what state or city you service, because people often couple their state or city with the service they are seeking for in a search engine query. Not only does this kind of target marketing bring more customers to your website, it simplifies the task of searching for those looking for your exact niche. The reason that setting up target specific web pages is particularly important in successful internet marketing is because search engines base return lists from users’ queries on the content and validity of the pages. If you have everything, or multiple services, listed on one page, you broaden your niche. Search engines see your website as less relevant than a competitor who has one page devoted to a single service. However, it is not enough in your niche marketing efforts to simply create pages. The content must be excellent for your internet marketing to be successful. If you deliver your product in a different way than others, play off of that. Use proper keywords to draw the attention of search engines. This is an important key to the success of target marketing. Another thing to consider is the size of your niche. There is such a thing as a "mega niche" where only a few hundred searches are conducted for a service that has a million or more competing websites. In cases like these, you may find it incredibly difficult to obtain page one on a Google return list. The best piece of advice that can be offered here is to go smaller and target that fiercely.

Thanks John. Ya know, this stuff is very hard for me, but I'm learning...
I subscribe to a niche marketing newsletter, but have been so busy that I haven't read even one issue yet. But I will be away for a while and might have more time when I come back from my travels all refreshed.
